Birmingham Disabled Sports Exhibition

In association with Birmingham City University and in aid of ParalympicsGB and Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association, the Birmingham Disabled Sports Exhibition (BPADS Exhibition) aims to promote Paralympic and disabled sport in the West Midlands through a range of interactive activities.

The World Wheelchair Basketball Championships take place in Birmingham this July and to help promote this, the Wolverhampton Rhinos Wheelchair Basketball team will be running introductory practical sessions on Wheelchair Basketball.

The Birmingham A’s Basketball Team will be taking part in these sessions and the end of the night will climax in an exhibition wheelchair basketball match between themselves and the Rhinos.

Paralympic athletes will also be in attendance. Mickey Bushell (pictured below), T53 100m World Record holder and silver medallist in Bejiing as well as Nigel Murray who is part of the Great Britain Boccia Team will be talking to guests and showcasing their awards.

The event is free with all donations going to charity and participants will receive an exclusive welcome pack which includes a free guest pass to the centre, discounted membership offers, a t shirt and a first look at Paralympic events that are taking place in the West Midlands leading up to the London Paralympics in 2012.
